Position Overview

Join a small, nimble, and super creative team at Altar’d State at Home, a newly launched home furnishings brand offering a warm, creative, and inspiring experience. With a deep love for beautiful visuals and a strong focus on photography and imagery, we bring our products and brand to life in captivating ways. In this fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, we are constantly growing and building new initiatives and brand concepts. We bring strong, collaborative individuals into a culture of support, accountability, and passion for the brand and product.

We’re looking for a Sr. Graphic Designer to take the lead on designing and concepting both print and digital projects for Altar’d State at Home. This includes everything from website design and packaging to catalogs, social marketing, and campaign creative. With a small but mighty team, this role comes with a lot of responsibility, so we need someone who’s comfortable owning the entire design process—from creating and proofing to releasing files and uploading assets. Strong communication skills, time management, and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential, along with a love for growth and change. Our ideal candidate has a beautiful portfolio of work that demonstrates typographic excellence, a strong sense of brand storytelling and the ability to create compelling images and video. Please bring a project example where you thoughtfully approached the brand story, design and imagery and took it from initial concept to completion.

Job Requirements

  • Partner with our creative director, copywriters, merchants, and product teams to create seasonal marketing assets – both digital and print.
  • Adapt quickly and maintain accuracy through frequent updates and changes.
  • Partner with the photo team to plan image assets, submit shoot and retouch requests.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to design digital CRM, advertising materials, and internal communications.
  • Research current design and graphic trends in home furnishings, fashion, social media, and marketing and how these apply to our brands.
  • Ability to manage project timelines to achieve milestones and deliver projects on time.
  • Communicate both written and verbal to ensure the team is aligned on project status.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work in a fast-paced office environment and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design
  • Expertise in typography and exceptional taste of visuals including photo and video
  • Experience in retail, design studio, agency, or freelance (Retail experience is a plus)
  • Proficient in all Mac applications: Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation,
  • project management & planning skills
  • A portfolio demonstrating beautiful and tasteful digital design and expertise in online visual communication
  • Collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Passion for retail and working in a shifting environment
