Job Description

Macdonald & Company is partnered with a real estate private equity firm looking to appoint an Associate to join the Asset Management team, supporting a diverse portfolio of affordable and market-rate multifamily properties nationwide. This role involves financial analysis, market research, and strategic planning to enhance property performance and investment outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in driving asset value and NOI growth by analyzing market positioning and executing property-specific strategies.
• Work closely with internal teams and third-party managers to track financials, budgets, and business plan performance.
• Research market trends, competitive landscapes, and local demand to inform decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and sustainability initiatives.
• Oversee capital projects and expenditures, coordinating with vendors and asset managers.
• Contribute to acquisition efforts by participating in property evaluations, due diligence, and underwriting.
• Develop financial models to assess returns, conduct hold/sell/refi analyses, and provide strategic recommendations.
• Support quarterly forecasting, investor reporting, and valuation processes.
• Assist in managing refinancing and dispositions, ensuring smooth execution of transactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis or real estate asset management, with a preference for multifamily expertise.
• Knowledge of LIHTC is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Willingness to travel as required.
