Trump is reportedly considering a plan to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda, a scheme that was initially considered by the UK government but ultimately shelved
Reports are swirling that Donald Trump’s team is mulling over a controversial plan to deport undocumented immigrants to Rwanda, an idea originally cooked up by the UK’s previous Conservative government but ditched due to legal snags.
A source told the Sun on Sunday that Trump’s squad is giving the Rwanda proposal some serious thought, in line with his tough stance on illegal immigration. The insider revealed, “Trump campaigned on a promise to crack down on illegal immigration – and he is determined to stick to it.”
They added, “His team is looking at the Rwanda scheme. He is considering deporting illegal migrants to Rwanda and other countries so they cannot stay on American soil.”
Trump’s hardline approach to immigration, especially at the US-Mexico border, was a cornerstone of his platform, propelling him to a win against Kamala Harris this month. Trump has been vocal about launching widespread deportations from the get-go, though specifics on its execution remain sparse.
