Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Employment/FLSA Status: Full-Time/Non-exempt

Location: EPIC Facility - Socorro, New Mexico

Travel Requirements: Yes, up to 10%

Salary Range: $21.85 - $31.70/hour (depending on experience, skills, and qualifications relative to the job requirements)

Position Summary

The Warehouse Coordinator I will assist the Warehouse Manager to ensure safe and effective operations of the EPIC Warehouse, including executing preventative and corrective maintenance of plant and building functions, and executing shipping and receiving. The Warehouse Coordinator I is responsible for tracking and reporting government-owned property, company-owned property, and implementing primary warehouse operations under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.

Details of Responsibilities

General Essential Job Duties:

● Track and confirm delivery of all outgoing and incoming shipments.

● Tag and barcode all incoming equipment and update property database as appropriate.

● Under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager, coordinates annual inventory of property across all locations and assists in reconciliation with accounting personnel.

● Perform basic warehouse duties.

● Assist technicians and engineers in equipment maintenance, repair, assembly, and with field preparation.

● Assists with the maintenance of warehouse, security, and general housekeeping.

● Report on changes in property, disposition requests, etc., as required by policy and OMB standards, for review by Warehouse Manager

● Develop data, as requested by the warehouse manager, related to government property.

● Other duties may be assigned as necessary by the Warehouse Manager.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities:

● Assist with monitoring student workforce and ensure that these part-time team members are trained in procedures and safety.

● Assist warehouse team in the coordination with program managers and department team members to ensure that all relative activities are properly coordinated and completed.

● Work with external vendors and community members to arrange services and/or procure supplies.

Qualifications – TIER 1

Salary Range $21.85 - $26.73/hour (depending on experience)

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory tools and best practices.

Qualifications -TIER 2

Salary Range $26.73-$31.70/hour (depending on experience)

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least two (4) years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Basic proficiency with inventory tools and basic implementation.

Preferred Skills:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business, logistics or related field.

● Experience in tracking and reporting government and company property.

● Hazmat, OSHA, Lift Truck Operator, and IATA certification.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

● Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing lists, shipping manifests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

● Ability to use judgment within defined practices / procedures to determine appropriate action.

● Ability to contribute to the solution of complex problems.

● Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

● Ability to apply good judgment and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

● Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.

● Basic knowledge of safe transportation and equipment moving operations.

● Basic knowledge of shipping software and its functions.

● Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

● Basic knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures for safe handling/storing/return of hazardous freight shipments.

● Must be organized with strong attention to detail.

● Must work independently as well as be a team player.

● Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is a plus but not required.

● Experience with inventory management software is a plus but not required.

Other Requirements:

● Appropriate availability consistent with EarthScope established practices and norms; hours may exceed 40 hours per week, particularly when traveling.

● Must have a current driver's license and be able to obtain a valid NM driver’s license.

● Must be able to comply with the EarthScope Consortium’s Motor Vehicle Policy.

● Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Ability to use safe forklift operations and lifting methods and techniques.
