⚡Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Hardware Engineering to lead and scale our hardware engineering organization. You will oversee the design, development, testing, and production of cutting-edge space-grade hardware components and systems. This role demands a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and can inspire cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and mission-critical hardware.

⚡Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a high-performing hardware engineering team focused on space systems including avionics, propulsion, structures, power, thermal management, and communication hardware.
• Define and execute the hardware engineering strategy aligned with company goals and mission objectives.
• Collaborate closely with systems engineering, software, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of hardware solutions.
• Oversee all phases of hardware development lifecycle: conceptual design, prototyping, testing, verification, validation, and production.
• Drive innovation in hardware design leveraging advanced materials, manufacturing techniques, and emerging technologies to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and mission requirements for space-grade hardware.
• Manage hardware engineering budgets, resources, and timelines to meet program milestones.
• Establish robust hardware reliability and risk mitigation practices to maximize mission success.
• Represent hardware engineering leadership in executive meetings, providing technical insights and progress updates.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.

⚡Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive hardware engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in aerospace or space-related industries.
• Proven track record managing complex hardware projects for spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles, or related space systems.
• Deep knowledge of space hardware development processes, including design for manufacturability, qualification, and flight certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with quality standards such as NASA standards, MIL-STD, or equivalent space industry requirements.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, balancing innovation with operational discipline.
