Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role
*This is a 2nd shift role; however, must have flexibility to work 1st shift as needed* In this role, you will motivate direct reports and business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, development, recognition, and supervision. You will demonstrate expertise with your knowledge of the processes your team is required to perform and ensure your team members are effectively performing job responsibilities utilizing standardized methods.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Identifies opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered audits
Achieves Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators
Cultivates a safety culture, and implements and enforces workplace safety rules and policies
Implements GMS and lean principles
Models GM’s cultural behaviors and demonstrates the highest level of integrity at all times
Maintains good working relationships and communicates with employees, union representatives, and management team
Evaluates team performance, and promotes continuous improvement
Achieves quality standards by communicating goals and identifying resourceful ways to solve problems
Understands and consistently administers collective bargaining agreements and company policies
Completes administrative tasks such as timekeeping, and maintains departmental records and reports
Performs all other duties as assigned
Supervision and Leadership:
Oversee and guide department operations.
Lead, train, and evaluate a team of union team members.
Foster a positive and collaborative environment between peers and union partners.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
1-3 years' experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment
Must be willing to work 1st or 2nd as determined by business needs
Must be willing to work overtime (including weekends as needed).
Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze data.
Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Previous supervisory experience in a union environment
