Job Description

Our client, a reputable construction firm, specializes in waterfront, transportation, water/wastewater, and heavy civil projects. They partner with major public agencies, including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Caltrans.

They are seeking a Field Safety Manager to drive a strong safety culture across projects spanning from Pomona to San Diego, CA. This role is 80% field-based, working closely with site crews and management to ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with field teams, coaching and mentoring on safety best practices.
• Conduct job site visits, safety audits, and provide hands-on guidance to foster a strong safety culture.
• Lead and attend project safety meetings, ensuring teams have the necessary safety resources.
• Develop and oversee site-specific safety plans, hazard analysis, and compliance documentation.
• Investigate incidents, identify corrective actions, and implement lessons learned.
• Conduct safety training (e.g., Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, Forklift).
• Collaborate with project owners, subcontractors, and third-party safety personnel to align safety expectations.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of construction safety experience in
• Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with all levels of field and project teams.
• Experience conducting jobsite safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to travel to job sites across California.

Preference:

• CHST Certified
• OSHA 30 Construction Outreach Trainer
• Bi-lingual (Spanish)
• HCSS Safety Platform
