Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on equipment, machines, and facilities to ensure the production operation is continuous and efficient.
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing technical support to the Production Team to develop and improve business systems and production processes; ensure production schedules are accurate and ensure crewing is at proper levels with properly trained employees to maximize production output.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist shift management with production schedule setup.
- Assists supervision on assigned shift to ensure all Company policies and procedures are followed and production is on schedule.
- Assist with certification process of shift team members.
- Proficient in ERP system.
- Communicates all production/machinery related issues to the shift manager ensure that production is efficient and meets all Company expectations.
- Fills in for Shift Manager as needed to maintain production (Non administrative).
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer specifications, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
- Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
- Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
- Ensures team members are trained in SQF requirements applicable to their job function.
- Assist in the maintenance of SQF and other food safety and quality system requirements.
- HHACCP and SQF; applying and demonstrating obtained knowledge and following all procedures and policies related to food safety.
- Responsible for keeping work area safe and clean.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines for job performed.
- Backfill for Production Scheduler/Inventory Control
- Other duties may be assigned by supervision as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally required to lift and pull up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally required to carry items up to 20 pounds
- Required to work while sitting for periods up to 2 hours
- Required to work in plant environment
- Perform light to medium duty work tasks
- QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required / Associates Degree in related field preferred Experience as a lead in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working as a packaging machine operator, extruder operator, and seasoning technician preferred. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operation management. Ability to use office equipment and software (including Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications, etc. Analytical and decisive decision maker with the ability to achieve organizational goals. Excellent time management skills with strong ability to lead, plan, and manage change and culture. Experience with equipment and facility planning and implementation. Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills (both oral and written) and listening ability. Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible. Strong relationship building and management skills. Have effective interpersonal and supervisory skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PPE, as required, when entering production area. Protective clothing, hair net and gloves are required.
