Mid-Level Motion Designer / Animator (Entertainment Focus)

Moonwalkers Motion is seeking a skilled mid-level motion designer and animator to join our growing team. We create cutting edge motion design for TV and film, collaborating with major streamers, networks, and production companies. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in a small, fast-moving studio with plenty of room for growth.

The Role

We are seeking a multi-talented motion designer who’s not only exceptional at crafting beautiful design frames but also has the skills to animate them - seeing the full creative process through from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership: of the creative, the workflow, and the result. You’ll be responsible for leading your own projects - concepting, designing, animating, managing timelines, and helping guide deliveries. You’ll collaborate directly with the Creative Director, and your work will be seen across major TV and film projects.

Because we’re a small and growing team, you’ll wear many hats: designer, animator, project manager, client communicator. You should be nimble, organized, and genuinely passionate about what you do, someone who’s always looking for smarter or more artistic ways to bring ideas to life through motion.

In this role, you will:

• Design high-quality style frames and develop looks that push creative boundaries
• Animate your own designs in After Effects and/or Cinema 4D
• Own the full project lifecycle - from brainstorm and concept to delivery
• Manage timelines and communicate proactively with both internal team and external partners
• Contribute to helping shape how we grow as a studio

Qualifications

• Advanced in After Effects and Cinema 4D (Redshift)
• General knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience designing and animating for the entertainment industry (TV or film)
• A portfolio that demonstrates beautiful design work, with strong frame composition, high production value aesthetics and competent animation with AE & C4D
• Attention to detail, strong artistic sensibility, and a clear sense of taste for entertainment visuals
• The ability to take a project from concept, through look development, to animation and final delivery
• Familiarity with broadcast delivery specs
• A collaborative and communicative mindset
• A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative
• Well-organized, with a good sense for operations and workflow.

Starting at $70,000/year , with opportunity for accelerated growth based on performance and contribution.



While we’re open to remote applicants, our ideal candidate is based in Los Angeles and available for occasional in-person collaboration with the Creative Director at our workspace in Venice.
