A Day in the Life of an Industrial Mechanic

As an Industrial Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment and facility operations run efficiently. Your day will involve troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to repair requests. You'll work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to keep production moving smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing preventative maintenance on all company equipment to ensure long-term reliability
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment
• Keeping detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed
• Responding quickly to emergency repair situations to minimize downtime
• Keeping work areas organized, clean, and stocked with necessary parts and tools
• Collaborating with managers and warehouse teams to schedule repairs around production needs
• Identifying potential equipment issues and addressing them before they become bigger problems

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• 3+ years of experience using hydraulics in a personal or professional setting
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge in various industrial settings
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and being on your feet frequently
• Valid driver’s license (required for equipment-related travel as needed)
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional Saturday jobs for repairs and emergency maintenance
• Must live within 30 miles of Grand Rapids, MI, to ensure timely response to maintenance needs
