What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support preconstruction strategy and execution across a range of civil projects—public and private. Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing plans, specs, and geotechnical reports to define scope and strategy
• Performing detailed takeoffs and cost breakdowns for sitework, utilities, and roadway elements
• Identifying risks and opportunities within RFPs and setting bid priorities
• Leading pre-bid site visits, vendor outreach, and subcontractor coordination
• Producing competitive, high-quality bid packages with narrative and VE options
• Supporting project managers and operations with pricing, durations, and constructability input
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to process improvement
• Staying current on market rates, material trends, and DOT standards

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating civil/site development work
• Strong technical skills in HCSS, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel
• Familiarity with FDOT or regional municipal bidding practices
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and soil reports
• Excellent math, organizational, and communication skills
• A track record of collaboration, ownership, and follow-through
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
