Job Description

We are a family owned and operated logistics and transport company with an immediate opening for a career-oriented Fleet Diesel Truck Mechanic. Must be familiar with most diagnostic operating systems. Responsibilities are diagnosing and repairing diesel engines (mostly Freightliner DD's), performing preventative maintenance, and trailer maintenance. We have our own in-house Parts Manager for ordering and keeping up with parts. Most all work will be done at the shop, with some travel using company service truck to offsite locations.

Tasks include:

· Inspects and repair fleet vehicles with diesel engines

· Provide mechanical maintenance, including repairs and lubrication.

· Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes

· Interprets diagnostic test results accurately

· Repair and maintain air brakes, vehicle air conditioning, and hydraulics.

· Repair and maintain truck and trailer electrical systems, i.e., 12v vdc.

· Report equipment breakdowns to Management and develop work orders.

· Keeps up with the equipment being operated, making sure they are clean and safe.

· Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans for future audits

· Work with General Manager and Dispatch to keep communication open

· Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly

· Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely

· Follows all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards

Working Environment:

Class A CDL (Preferred)

Clean Driver License (Required)

Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb to heights of at least 50 feet frequently.

Able to speak clearly and listen attentively

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
