Job Description

Quality Custom Distribution, a division of Golden State Foods is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the management of contracts from initiation through negotiation, execution, and compliance. This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical individual with strong organizational and communication skills to manage contractual relationships, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with all legal and company guidelines. Distribution experience preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Drafting & Negotiation:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring that terms align with company policies, objectives, and applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, sales, procurement) to finalize contract terms and resolve any conflicts.

Contract Administration:

  • Oversee the administration of contracts from initiation to execution, ensuring timely and accurate contract completion.
  • Ensure that all contracts are properly recorded, tracked, and stored for easy retrieval.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Monitor contract compliance and performance to ensure that all parties meet their obligations and timelines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in contractual terms and conditions.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with regulatory, legal, and company standards.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with GSF legal counsel to ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards, providing legal insights during contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for all processes; provide training and guidance to team members regarding contract management processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment of contract terms with company strategy.

Contract Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze contract performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and report on key metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on contract-related issues and trends.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Handle contract disputes and negotiations, working to resolve issues amicably and in compliance with contractual terms.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related queries and issues.

Food Distribution Experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience and proven success in contract management, legal, procurement, or related fields.

Strong understanding of contract law, compliance, and risk management.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.

Ability to partner with leaders across various functions and and motivate others effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM).
  • Experience in a specific industry (supply chain, distribution and logistics).
