Job Summary :

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead strategic partnerships, expand market presence, and drive revenue growth, particularly within city projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, expertise in fleet management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with municipalities to foster business expansion.

Purpose:

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in increasing revenue and expanding business opportunities to drive profitability and long-term success. By leveraging strategic planning, relationship management, and industry expertise, this role ensures the company remains competitive while delivering best-in-class solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with municipalities and key stakeholders to build partnerships for city projects.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to refine business strategies.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive business development plan with clear goals, objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes focused on financial growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities, including emerging markets, industry trends, partnerships, products, services, and innovative ways to expand market reach.
  • Demonstrate expertise in engaging C-level executives and key decision-makers within large and mid-sized construction companies.
  • Generate high-quality business leads through targeted sales campaigns, lead sharing, and customer referrals.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients through proactive sales outreach, virtual and in-person meetings, and networking.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, sponsored events, and conferences to expand business networks and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including Operations, Fleet, and Finance—to ensure seamless customer experiences and service delivery.
  • Develop business reports with key performance data, including sales progress, customer insights, expense tracking, and financial forecasts.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track customer interactions, analyze data, and refine sales strategies.
  • Maintain a diversified client portfolio across all lines of business to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed key performance indicators, including sales targets and profitability goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Must have valid driver license
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook with emphasis on PowerPoint and media presentations
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and execute to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledgeable in root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record in transactional sales and relationship building in diverse selling environments with high volume accounts

Experience and Education

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge/experience in construction, manufacturing, or distribution industry preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in outside sales or demonstrable ability to be successful in sales preferred
  • Knowledge/experience with Salesforce.com or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% and work a flexible schedule
  • Ability and willingness to travel to company sites in-state and/or out-of-state as needed
  • Frequently standing, talking, walking, sitting, lifting, twisting, bending, and use repetitive motions
  • Occasionally working in extreme cold, heat/sun, temperature change, wetness, and humidity
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or walk for long periods of time, often lift, and carry 40 pounds
