Role Overview:  
As the sole member of the accounting team, you will report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in managing the company's financial operations. You will oversee the full accounting cycle, from general ledger maintenance and month-end closes to billing, payroll, and financial reporting. Your responsibilities will also include optimizing processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all accounting functions. Additionally, you will provide key financial insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business decisions and drive operational improvements. 

Responsibilities:  

• Review and reconcile accounts, book journal entries and other adjustments, and close the books timely each month. 

• Manage billings done through Stripe and bill customers manually as needed. 

• Receivables aging and collections. 

• Manage all data flows between Quickbooks, Stripe, Paypal, bank account, and any other related systems. 

• Monitor purchasing process and pay vendors. Manage and/or monitor payroll process. 

• Continually streamline, automate, and improve the speed and accuracy of the accounting and its related processes. 

• 3 statement and other applicable financial statement reporting. 

• Manage tax processes including 3rd party service providers. 

• Create financial controls and perform oversight around spending and assets. 

• Analyze financial results and provide insights. 

• Perform similar job-related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

• Very strong attention to detail. Problem solver. Strong sense of accountability. 

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of staff accountant experience. 

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting required. 

• CPA preferred. 

• Experience at Big 4 or other top accounting firm preferred. 

• Must have strong analytical skills coupled with excellent knowledge of accounting principles. 

• Experience with billings, A/R, A/P, and payroll preferred. 

• Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to all levels of management. 

• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment. 

• Must be comfortable working independently and remotely, and reporting to all functional leaders of the company. 

• Prior experience with process improvement/optimization. 

Equity-Based Compensation Opportunity:

As part of the SOULCHI team, you'll take part in our equity-based compensation model, aligning your success with the success of our business. After much research we have found the fairest equity model for a startup. We use the Slicing Pie model. First phase is equity-based only, which we are currently in. Equity calculations move dynamically based on your fair market rate and actual number of hours worked. In the second phase, which happens at the break-even point, the equity freezes at each member's current earned percentage and compensation switches to salary + benefits. Your equity percentage gets paid out annually as part of the profit sharing. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to own a piece of the future.
