U.S. Forces Conduct Precision Strikes Against al-Shabaab

U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), working in close coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, carried out a series of airstrikes on Friday 14 November 2025, targeting al-Shabaab militants. The strikes took place roughly 55 kilometers northeast of Kismayo.

These operations reflect AFRICOM’s ongoing partnership with Somali authorities and the Somali Armed Forces to disrupt and weaken al-Shabaab’s capacity to threaten the United States, its deployed personnel, and American citizens overseas.

To preserve operational security, AFRICOM has not released specific information regarding the units or assets involved in the strikes.
