China Alerts Its Nationals to Danger of Becoming Forced Laborers in Central African Republic

Drone strikes by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) hit Khartoum International Airport and an electricity converter station just a day before the airport was scheduled to reopen for domestic flights after more than two years of closure.
Witnesses reported at least eight explosions around the airport, with the Sudanese army claiming to have shot down several drones, though others caused damage and panic nearby. The attack is believed to have been an attempt to disrupt the airport’s reopening.
The army had earlier regained control of the airport and nearby districts in March for the first time since the conflict began in April 2023. The war between the army and the RSF has so far killed over 20,000 people and displaced more than 14 million, according to the United Nations, making it one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
