Ghana’s Struggle with Enduring Government Corruption

A glimmer of hope has emerged from the latest mass kidnapping in Nigeria after one of the 25 schoolgirls abducted from a high school dormitory in Kebbi State managed to escape.
According to the school principal, the girl fled through a nearby forest and found her way home after gunmen stormed the school before dawn on Monday, 17 November 2025.
The attackers targeted the girls’ hostel, seizing 25 students and killing a staff member during the raid. The incident highlights once again the deepening security crisis in northwestern Nigeria, where armed groups continue to carry out kidnappings for ransom, leaving communities in fear and authorities struggling to respond.
Local officials and security agencies are continuing efforts to track the kidnappers and rescue the remaining students, as families anxiously await news of their children.
