Libya and Nigeria are working to revive a stalled natural gas pipeline project that would carry Nigerian gas to Europe via Libya.

At a recent meeting in Tripoli, Libya’s Oil Minister Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo, and NNPC CEO Bayo Ojulari agreed to exchange technical data to advance feasibility studies.

A memorandum of understanding is expected after the studies to define the project’s framework. The pipeline is seen as a strategic link boosting Libya’s role as an energy hub and expanding Nigeria’s gas exports, aligning with Europe’s push to diversify energy sources.
