Sudan’s War Turns Darker as Reports Emerge of Military’s Chlorine Gas Use

Ghana has recorded a marginal improvement on Transparency International’s 2025 Corruption Perception Index, moving up one point from a score of 42 to 43 and ranking 76th out of 182 countries.
Despite the uptick, the index notes that the change is not statistically significant and that corruption remains a persistent problem, driven by weak enforcement of laws and fragile anti-corruption institutions.
Transparency International observed that Ghana’s score has largely stagnated around 43 since 2020, well below its peak of 48 in 2014, highlighting limited progress despite policy reforms. The organization called for stronger justice systems, faster establishment of anti-corruption courts, and greater emphasis on ethics and integrity within public institutions to reverse the long-term decline.
