Cameroon Opposition Leader Tchiroma Claims Election Victory, Urges Biya to Concede

Belgium has become the eighth creditor country to sign a bilateral agreement to restructure Ghana’s external debt, marking another step in the country’s efforts to restore fiscal stability after its recent financial crisis.
The agreement, signed in Accra, forms part of a broader debt restructuring programme following the economic crisis that forced Ghana to declare a debt default in 2022–2023.
Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson said the country is gradually recovering from the crisis and putting measures in place to prevent a similar situation in the future. He noted that the deal with Belgium represents significant progress in Ghana’s negotiations with members of the Official Creditor Committee.
Belgium’s Ambassador to Ghana, Carole van Eyll, reaffirmed her country’s support for Ghana’s economic recovery and efforts to rebuild macroeconomic stability.
