UK Court Sentences Nigerian Man and Accomplice to Life Imprisonment for East London Murder

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced plans to deport at least 79 Nigerians who have been placed on its so-called “worst-of-the-worst” criminal deportation list.
The disclosure, published on the DHS website, is part of renewed efforts by U.S. immigration authorities to prioritize the removal of foreign nationals with serious criminal convictions.
According to DHS, those named are convicted criminal non-citizens who were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and are now being fast-tracked for deportation. The department said the initiative reflects a broader policy focus on removing individuals deemed to pose significant public safety risks.
In a statement, DHS said it is “highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by ICE,” adding that under the leadership of Secretary Noem, the agency is acting on President Donald Trump’s pledge to carry out mass deportations beginning with the most serious offenders.
The list includes Nigerians convicted of crimes ranging from money laundering and fraud to sexual offenses, kidnapping, armed assault, identity theft, and drug smuggling. Among those named are individuals arrested in states such as Texas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and New Jersey.
Despite the announcement, DHS has not specified when the deportations will begin or how quickly the affected individuals will be removed from the United States.
