Lenacapavir, New HIV Prevention Injection, Set for 2026 Rollout Amid Funding Challenges

Access Bank Plc has announced plans to host the second Africa Trade Conference (ATC 2026), a high-level forum aimed at strengthening Africa’s role in shaping global trade systems. The event is scheduled for March 11, 2026, in South Africa, according to a statement released by the bank on Sunday.
Chief Executive Officer Roosevelt Ogbonna said the conference will focus on moving Africa from dialogue to delivery in global trade engagement. He described ATC 2026 as a platform that brings together policymakers, investors, innovators, infrastructure leaders, and capital providers to drive practical solutions for Africa’s trade development.
Ogbonna noted that Access Bank’s extensive footprint across Africa positions it to facilitate cross-border trade, unlock regional value chains, and simplify market integration. He added that the bank’s presence across African markets and key global trade corridors gives it both insight and responsibility to design inclusive and scalable trade solutions.
The conference will spotlight the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and explore policy harmonisation, infrastructure development, digitisation, and innovative financing models to unlock Africa’s trade potential. Key discussions will also address technology-driven commerce, sustainable trade practices, market access solutions, and financing strategies to support SME growth and industrial development across the continent.
ATC 2026 is expected to convene policymakers, global investors, development finance institutions, multinational corporations, and African business leaders, creating a strategic platform for collaboration, influence, and action in advancing Africa’s global trade integration.
